Nursing Professor
Edgewood College invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in its School of Nursing. Rank will be commensurate with credentials, background, and teaching experience.

Consistent with Edgewood College’s mission, the School of Nursing
educates students for meaningful personal and professional lives of ethical leadership, service, and a lifelong search for truth. We seek candidates who are capable nurse educators dedicated to the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Responsibilities: Undergraduate classroom and clinical teaching, particularly in the area of mental health nursing. Opportunities are available for involvement in the graduate program (with concentrations in nursing administration and education), an accelerated BSN program for post-baccalaureate students, and interdisciplinary College-wide courses. Active involvement in curriculum planning and assessment and in College and School of Nursing governance are also essential components of the position.

Qualifications: Doctorate in Nursing  or  in a related field with a Master’s degree in Nursing; eligibility for RN license in Wisconsin; ABD will be considered; demonstrated record of excellence in clinical practice; and documented ability to teach undergraduate and graduate students in both classroom and clinical settings. Preference will be given to candidates qualified to teach in an innovative, community-based course that focuses on psychiatric nursing as integral to care in all settings.

Visiting Three Year Professor of Clinical/Counseling Psychology and Substance Abuse
Edgewood College has an immediate opportunity for a Three-Year Visiting Professor. 
The purpose of this Visiting Professor position in the Psychology Department at Edgewood College would be to teach 3 courses per semester, coordinate and advise students in the clinical/counseling and substance abuse concentrations, facilitate internship placements, and participate in department responsibilities.

Responsibilities: Teaching 3 courses per semester; courses could include: general psychology, intro to psychotherapy, abnormal, assessment, and the internship seminar; advising approximately 20 undergraduate psychology majors; participating in department duties.

Instructor of Natural Sciences
Edgewood College has an immediate opportunity for an Adjunct Faculty in the Natural Sciences department.

Interim Director of the Center for Multicultural Education
Edgewood College has an immediate opportunity for an Interim Director.

The Dean of the School of Integrative Studies and the CME Advisory Board invite applications from Edgewood College faculty for the position of Interim Director of the Center for Multicultural Education. We are seeking candidates from our current faculty with experience and scholarly interests in multicultural and ethnic studies. 

Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: teach one course per semester in ethnic studies or in one’s related academic area/specialty; supervise the Ethnic Studies minor and advise ethnic studies minor students; provide leadership for the multicultural General Education Requirement; assist faculty in new course development, incorporating new course material, and enhancing the curriculum, and evaluate effectiveness of ethnic studies curricular programs. Center for Multicultural Education Operations: develop, supervise, and evaluate programs and resources for CME; develop and administer budget for the Center ; and supervise and train student workers. Faculty Support Services: design, promote, and present sessions on the topic of diversity for all new faculty; sponsor faculty development opportunities in collaboration with the Faculty Development Committee; and work in cooperation with faculty, staff, and other campus services to ensure strong support services for diverse faculty. Leadership for Faculty Diversity Efforts: review, research, coordinate diversity training/education options for faculty; coordinate “Teaching for Diversity” faculty group; oversee and collaborate with the Center for Multicultural Education Advisory Board; write grants to identify resources for faculty exchange; and serve as a member of the campus wide Diversity Committee.

Director of Career & Outreach Services
Career Services seeks a candidate who would provide strategic vision, leadership, supervision, assessment and on-going improvement for comprehensive career and outreach services for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. Work in collaboration with key partners including faculty, staff, alumni and employers to develop a shared vision and strategic plan to accomplish this vision.  Provide leadership for: the creation of an inclusive climate for student, parents, alumni and employers; the development of experiential learning opportunities; the integration of cutting-edge technological tools to enhance service delivery and the expansion of employment services. Develop innovative services and programs that meet the changing needs of students and alumni. Promote Edgewood as a recruitment destination for local, regional and national organizations seeking to employ Edgewood students and graduates.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Administration: provide strategic direction and leadership; engage in on-going planning, assessment and evaluation to ensure the continual improvement and provision of innovative and effective programs and services that meet the changing needs of students, alumni and employers; develop strong partnerships with academic departments, faculty and employers to provide effective career and outreach services and programs; work in partnership with faculty and staff to create retention strategies that address the needs of identified populations; ensure the development of programs that expand the reach and comprehensive nature of departmental services; hire, train, supervise and evaluate departmental staff to including: Director of Career Education and Student Resource Center Office Coordinator; develop and manage budget, approve purchases and monitor department expenditures; and prepare departmental annual report for distribution to appropriate constituents. Career Education and Outreach: offer on-going career presentations and educational outreach to faculty, staff and students to extend the delivery of comprehensive services; oversee the availability of a wide range of career and professional development educational outreach through a variety of methods; provide career counseling and referrals to assist students, alumni and potential students with all aspects of the career development process including clarifying goals, decision-making, strategic networking, preparation for graduate school and obtaining occupational information; ensure the administration of an appropriate range of career inventories; and foster strong partnerships with academic departments and individual faculty in the development of field experiences and the preparation of students for experiential learning. Student Development: serve as active and collaborative member of the Student Development Staff toward the realization of the Student Development Staff mission and serve on staff committees and collaborative teams as needed. College Services: participate in Commencement, orientations, college assemblies, admission events and other College activities as assigned or needed and attend Student Resource Center meetings and retreats.

Qualifications
:
Master’s degree in counseling, college student personnel, human resources management or related field required; minimum five years of professional experience, higher education setting very strongly preferred; career education and outreach experience required; Record of strategic leadership; strong presentation and training skills; evidence of strong supervisory and managerial skills; demonstrated effectiveness as career counselor and educator; strong strategic planning, assessment and evaluation skills; demonstrated and consistent record of effective cultural competence; ability to relate effectively to college students of all ages and backgrounds; effective interpersonal communication skills; excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational skills; proven ability to successfully utilize technological and electronic resources and tools; creative and effective marketing skills; demonstrated record of acting with integrity; strong team membership and community-building skills; ability to administer and interpret broad range of career assessments; and the ability to develop and manage departmental budget.

Director of the Human Issues Studies Program
Edgewood College seeks a Program Director to provide leadership in the administration and integration of its Human Issues (HI) Studies Program throughout the curriculum, campus, and community. The HI Studies Program is an interdisciplinary, experiential, and values-based capstone program for Edgewood juniors and seniors (humaniss.edgewood.edu). This is an administrative, 11- to 12-month (negotiable) position with faculty status, beginning July 1, 2008.

Responsibilities: Provide leadership within the College and the wider community in implementing the Human Issues (HI) Studies Program as exemplary of the mission of Edgewood College; administer the HI Program and supervise HI staff; teach a minimum of one course/year in the HI Program; chair regular meetings of the HI Subcommittee of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (UCC) and report on the activities of the Program to UCC and to the Dean of the School of Integrative Studies (SoIS); stimulate the development and coordination of interdisciplinary HI Seminars and other structured offerings in the Program; organize faculty development sessions on the goals and purposes of the HI Program, the mentoring process, and the pedagogies that support Program aims; meet regularly with key stakeholder groups on campus to ensure the integration of the HI requirement into the recruitment and advising process; collaborate with and—where appropriate—offer leadership to other campus initiatives that share HI Program goals; organize meetings with seminar instructors and HI advisors; working closely with others, provide leadership for campus-community partnerships that enhance student learning in the HI program and other curricular offerings; represent the HI Program at appropriate campus meetings and faculty committees, prepare the annual budget, and submit a yearly report to the UCC; serve on the SoIS Leadership Council and contribute to SoIS mission and priorities.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. and broad interdisciplinary academic experience integrated with community outreach.  Experience directing projects incorporating community-based learning, service learning, and/or experiential education is highly desired. Also, the College’s general education program is currently under revision, and it is likely that the Human Issues program will transform as a result of these revisions. The ideal candidate will possess skills for adaptability and leadership for change as the HI program expands to play an even more prominent role in students’ lives. Dance Team Coach
Edgewood College has an immediate opportunity for a Coach for the Dance Team. 
The Edgewood College Dance Team performs at all home basketball games.  In addition to performing at basketball games, the Dance Team plays an important part in supporting Homecoming and other campus wide special athletic events.  The person in this position must be able to develop a dance team that offers this support and helps enhance school spirit at Edgewood College.

Responsibilities: Recruit dance team; conduct tryouts; assist and choreograph routines; reserve practice rooms, and attend regularly scheduled practice sessions and games; monitor budget, purchases, and inventory equipment; assist with fundraising; and work with Student Activities on school spirit activities.

Qualifications: Previous coaching experience; extensive and diverse background in dance and choreography (hip hop, ballet, jazz, modern, etc.); proven ability to generate enthusiasm; and the ability to set goals, critique, and provide feedback on performance.

ESL/Bilingual Program Assistant

Bookstore Manager
Edgewood College has an immediate opportunity for a Manager.
The Edgewood College Bookstore is seeking an individual to have primary responsibility for the management and operation of the College Bookstore.

Responsibilities: Oversee purchasing and selling of textbook and retail items; monitor inventory levels and establishing inventory controls; hire, train, and evaluate staff and student employees; develop and create marketing materials to promote Bookstore (i.e. sales events); collaborate with faculty members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of textbooks; monitor industry benchmarks and explore new sales initiatives and prepare and analyze financial reports including sales projections, budgets, and cost of operations.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing emphasis desired); experience in a supervisory role preferred; business experience; strong organizational skills; knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite; bookstore ordering and inventory system; creative planning; and the ability to work with a wide-variety of people.

Graduate Assistant for Library - Part-time
Edgewood College has an opportunity for a Masters in Library Science candidate as part-time Graduate Assistant in the Oscar Rennebohm Library. The position is for 20-hours week and the candidate will share responsibility for closing the library 2-3 evenings per week.  Primary hours are Sunday through Thursday 6:15 p.m. – 11:15 p.m. The hours are flexible to meet your class schedule but the salary does not include tuition benefits.  The salary for this position is $3,100 per semester. The position will begin August 2008.

Responsibilities Primarily responsible for providing customized information services (ready reference, point-of-use-instruction, scheduled research consultation), assist in the design of handouts, online instruction, and other supplementary materials that help students learn about information resources, troubleshoot electronic hardware and software in public service areas (refer more complex problems to the appropriate computer services staff member), and supervise student assistants on evening and weekend shifts.  Additional special projects will be assigned based on candidate interest, knowledge, experience.

Qualifications Currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited Library and Information Studies program;  able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment; excellent problem solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills; exhibit excellent communication skills, and a strong, proactive service orientation; ability to understand user comfort levels with technology and employ teaching concepts related to the adult learner; highly flexible with ability to thrive in a fast-paced and continually changing environment; ability to troubleshoot computers and/or software applications. Familiarity with online circulation and catalog systems (Experience with Innovative system is a plus).
